PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
FRAMING OUR FUTURES is a free digital photography program for young people between the ages of 14-18. Led by two of the Capital Region’s finest, Jayana Espinoza–a portrait photographer and documentarian–and Tyler Ki-Re–a fashion and editorial photographer, and creative director, Youth FX is excited to continue engaging and empowering young people through photography.
Over the course of 20 weeks program participants will have the opportunity to build community, engage in self-exploration, and develop technical skills via hands-on training and direct access to cameras, workshops with skilled facilitators that explore techniques, aesthetics, and the history of photography, all while engaging them in their own world.
By the close of the program, participants will leave with a body of work, heightened artistic expression, new language, increased self awareness, self confidence, and a deep understanding of the creative and technical skill necessary to critically think and analyze the world around them, and the images seen in their day to day life.
